The US president calls for war powers to enhance the production of rare land and other critical minerals.
US President Donald Trump said that his administration will sign a rare ground deal with Ukraine “very soon”, after calling the powers of the war to increase the local production of critical minerals.
In a speech at the White House on Thursday, Trump said that his administration was setting agreements in “different sites” to reach rare Earth minerals, which are used to manufacture electronics, batteries and magnets, among other elements.
“One of the things we do is signing a deal very soon in relation to rare land with Ukraine … they have a huge value in rare land, and we appreciate that,” Trump said.
Trump made statements shortly after the signing of an executive order directing federal agencies to identify mines and government -owned lands that can be exploited to enhance critical mineral production.
The matter requires the powers mentioned in the Defense Production Law, a Korean law in the era of war that gives Washington a comprehensive authority to mobilize industrial resources in the service of national security.
The signing of the United States and Ukraine was scheduled to have an agreement granting Washington to reach natural resources to Kev until the general tendency between Trump and Ukrainian President Folodimir Zelinski last month would be preceded by the plan.
Zelinski said earlier this month that his government was “ready to sign” on a rare ground deal despite the tense exchange with Trump at the White House, but he wanted to hear the “Ukrainian position.”
Trump Kiev has prompted Washington to reach its natural resources as part of his administration’s efforts to clarify the quick end of the war in Ukraine.
Zelinski said on Wednesday that Kiev agreed to an American proposal to stop the attacks on energy infrastructure, a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted the plan.
In his remarks at the White House on Thursday, Trump said that his administration’s efforts to reach a peace agreement “well.”
“We hope that we can save thousands of people a week from death. This is what is going on,” he said.
“They die unnecessarily.
