A California federal judge prevented the Trump administration from ending the funding of the legal advisor to unaccompanied migrant minors.
The American boycott judge, the American boycott judge, Arselli Martinez-Olgouen, was appointed from San Francisco, issued a temporary restriction order on Tuesday that would prevent the Trump administration from ending funding while the advantages of the main issue were playing.
On March 21, the Trump administration ended a contract with the ACACIA Justice Center, which provides legal services for unaccompanied immigrants under the age of 18 to a network of sub -legal aid groups with the center. Eleven groups of subcontractors sued, saying that 26,000 children were at risk of losing their lawyer; Akassia is not the plaintiff.
These groups have argued that the government has a commitment under the 2008 anti -trend law to provide vulnerable children with a legal advisor.

On Tuesday, Martinez-Olgouen said that the defenders raised legitimate questions about whether the administration violates the 2008 law, which calls for a return to the current situation during the continuation of the case.
She wrote: “In addition, the court finds that continuous legal financing for unaccompanied children enhances efficiency and fairness within the immigration system.”
This is the third legal setback in less than a week to suppress the Trump administration, although everyone may be temporary with lawsuits.

The 2008 re -authorization of the 2008 re -protection law created a special protection for immigrant children who cannot navigate a complex immigration system on their own. Prosecutors said that some of their clients are smaller than to speak and have a great shock and do not know the English language.

The defendants, which include the Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Services and its office for resettlement of refugees, said that taxpayers have no obligation to pay the cost of direct legal assistance to immigrant children at a time when the government is trying to save money.

Prosecutors said that they do not ask to restore the contract, but rather want to return to the current situation – which spends $ 5 billion that Congress classified it until the children are represented.
Jonathan Ross of the Ministry of Justice said that the government is still funding legally required activities, such as clinics “knowing your rights”, and that legal clinics can provide their services without fees.
“They are still free to provide these services on a free basis,” he said.
