Washington has threatened additional attacks on the country, including alleged Iranian origins
Tehran condemned the deadly American strikes on Yemen, describing the last attack as a major threat to regional and global peace.
US President Donald Trump ordered “Strong military action” Against the Houthi militants in the Yemeni on Saturday, accusing them of Shen “An integral campaign of piracy, violence and terrorism against Americans, and other ships, aircraft and drones.” The group, officially known as ANSAR GLAT, controls a large part of the war -torn Yemen, including the Sanaa capital, since mid -2010.
Iran has strongly condemned the strikes, as the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ismail Bakai, described it as a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and urges the United Nations Security Council to take action. He said in a statement on Sunday that the attack posed a major threat to both peace and regional and international security.
The strikes killed at least 53 years and left nearly 100, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Health, which is run by Houthi. The extent of the damage to the group itself was not immediately clear. National Security Adviser, Trump Mike Walz, claimed the strikes “Many Houthi leaders hit and brought them out.”
Al -Fals threatened more strikes on Yemen and said that various goals “It will be on the table.” These include Iranian ships operating off the coast of the country and are believed to provide an intelligence for the Houthis, and the alleged Iranian military advisers, and “Other things have put it to help the Houthis attack the global economy.”
However, Tehran has constantly denied its involvement in the Houthi activities. The head of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reiterated this position on Sunday, saying “No role in setting national or operational policies play” From the Yemeni group based.
The Houthis launched dozens of strikes at international shipping assets in the region in late 2023 in a campaign that was solidarity with the Palestinians. Regardless of targeting maritime traffic, the Houthis have repeatedly fired long -range ballistic missiles and drones against Israel, as well as the targeted western military ships that were deployed in the region to enter their attacks.
The United States, the United Kingdom and Israel have repeatedly bombed the alleged military sites associated with Houthi and infrastructure in Yemen, yet the attacks continued. The Houthi campaign was suspended in January after Israel arrived, and the Palestinian Armed Group reached a fragile ceasefire.
The last American air strikes came days after the Houthis said that they would resume attacks on what they believe are ships linked to Israeli sailing across the red and Arab seas, the strait of the door, and the Gulf of Aden. The group announced the resumption of attacks on ships on Tuesday after the deadline it set for Israel to allow aid to flow to Gaza.
